National Association of Realtors - realtor requirements

Before enumerating the qualities that the real estate auctioneer you choose should display, it is important to understand what is necessary to become licensed to auction real estate and what auctions achieve.

RealtorA real estate auctioneer is a licensed professional that facilitates the process of selling real estate at auction. As well as holding an auctioneers license, individuals who choose to sell real estate at auction must be licensed by the state in which they do business.

Before issuing a real estate license, the state requires an individual to complete education, examinations and obtain experience. After receiving the real estate license, agents who hold themselves to a higher set of standards also join the local board of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors, the world's largest professional trade association.
